What does an online running coach do?
An online running coach provides you with a personalised training plan, tailored progression, analysis of your sessions and ongoing support — all delivered remotely. At OneTrack, your coach builds a programme around your lifestyle, fitness level and goals, then adapts it weekly based on your performance, recovery and schedule. It’s the same level of coaching you’d get in-person, but with more flexibility and more touchpoints.
Is OneTrack coaching suitable for beginners?
Yes — absolutely. Many OneTrack runners start as complete beginners or returning runners who need structure and confidence. Your coach starts exactly where you are, focuses on building foundations safely, and helps you progress at a pace that feels sustainable. No jargon, no judgement — just clear guidance and supportive accountability.
How does personalised training differ from generic running plans?
Generic plans assume everyone has the same background, schedule and ability. Personalised coaching goes deeper. Your OneTrack coach looks at your data, weekly availability, life stress, injury history, preferred training environment and goal timelines — and builds a plan that adapts as you do. No more guessing if you’re doing the right session. Every run has purpose.
How often will I hear from my coach?
You’ll be in touch regularly and we ask that you commit to one 30 minute video call each week. Your coach checks your completed sessions, reviews your data, and updates your plan each week. You can message them whenever you need support — whether that’s pre-race guidance, a mid-week wobble, or help adjusting your plan on busy weeks. You’re never training alone.
Does OneTrack coaching integrate with my running watch or app?
Yes. We integrate with all major platforms, including Garmin, Apple Watch, Suunto, Coros and more. Your sessions sync automatically, allowing your coach to analyse your data — from heart rate to pace to cadence — so they can adjust your training with precision.
What kind of results can I expect?
Results vary depending on your goals, but OneTrack runners typically see improvements in pace, endurance, confidence, race performance and overall enjoyment of running. Because your plan continually adapts to your progress, most athletes see measurable improvements within 6–8 weeks, assuming that you are following the guidance from your coach.
Can OneTrack coaching help me run a marathon or half marathon?
Yes — race preparation is one of our specialties. Whether you want to finish comfortably, run a PB or qualify for a major, your coach will design a full training pathway covering base-building, peak training, tapering and race-day strategy. You’ll arrive at the start line confident and well-prepared.
What is included in the coaching subscription?
Your subscription includes a personalised training plan, weekly plan updates, ongoing messaging with your coach, data analysis, session feedback and access to the OneTrack training framework. There are no hidden extras — just premium coaching, delivered consistently.
Do I need access to a gym or track?
No. Your coach can design your plan around whatever is available to you — roads, parks, treadmill, home workouts or local trails. If you do have access to a track or gym, they’ll factor that in, but it’s never required.
How quickly can I start?
You can begin immediately after you complete the onboarding questionnaire. Your coach will review your information and start building your plan. Most runners receive their first week of training within 24–48 hours.
What if I get injured or need to pause training?
Your coach will adjust your plan immediately — either reducing intensity, switching in cross-training or recommending rest until you’re ready to return. If you need to pause longer-term, you can freeze your subscription at any time on providing a medical note.
Can I switch coaches later on?
Yes. If you feel you’d benefit from a different coaching style or speciality, we’ll help you move to another OneTrack coach seamlessly — your training history and notes transfer across.
Is this service only for fast or experienced runners?
Not at all. OneTrack coaches work with complete beginners, recreational runners, returning runners, and competitive athletes. The coaching is tailored to you — not a certain level of ability.
Do I need any specific equipment?
All you really need is a pair of running shoes. A GPS watch is helpful but not essential — you can track sessions with your phone if needed. Your coach will guide you through what’s truly useful (and what’s not worth buying).
How long should I stay with a coach?
Most runners see the biggest transformations when they work with a coach for at least 12 weeks. This is why we ask for a minimum 3 month commitment. For race goals, we recommend staying through the full training cycle. Many runners continue year-round for consistent progress, structure and accountability.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Yes. Coaching has a 3-month minimum term. This is because meaningful progress in running takes consistency, adaptation and time — and your coach builds your programme with this in mind. Three months allows you to settle into training, see measurable improvements and experience how personalised coaching genuinely elevates your running. After the first 3 months, your plan continues on a flexible month-to-month basis.
